New Tahafiz Block Inaugurated at Bugembe Islamic Institute with Support from International Donors
Bugembe Islamic Institute has reached a significant milestone in its mission to provide quality Islamic education with the inauguration of its new Tahafiz Block, made possible through generous support from international donors. This new facility marks a major step forward in the institute’s ongoing efforts to nurture students in the memorization and understanding of the Holy Qur’an while promoting holistic education rooted in faith and discipline.
The newly inaugurated Tahafiz Block is designed to provide an ideal learning environment for students dedicated to Qur’an memorization. Equipped with modern classrooms, study halls, prayer areas, and comfortable learning spaces, the facility ensures that students can focus entirely on their spiritual and academic growth. The design emphasizes accessibility, safety, and a conducive atmosphere for study, reflecting the institute’s commitment to excellence in both religious and general education.
During the inauguration ceremony, the institute’s leadership expressed deep gratitude to the international donors whose support made this dream a reality. Their contributions reflect a shared vision of fostering Islamic education and empowering the next generation of scholars and community leaders. The event was attended by teachers, students, parents, and community members, all of whom celebrated this achievement as a symbol of progress and dedication to the values of faith and knowledge.
The new Tahafiz Block not only enhances the institute’s educational infrastructure but also strengthens its mission of instilling discipline, moral values, and character in students. By providing a dedicated space for Qur’an memorization and study, Bugembe Islamic Institute continues to produce students who are not only academically proficient but also spiritually grounded and socially responsible.
This initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration between local institutions and international partners in promoting meaningful education and community development. The Tahafiz Block stands as a testament to the institute’s ongoing commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who can contribute positively to society while upholding Islamic principles.
As Bugembe Islamic Institute looks to the future, the new Tahafiz Block represents more than just a physical space—it embodies the institute’s vision of excellence, spiritual growth, and leadership. Students will now have the opportunity to pursue their Qur’anic studies in a modern, supportive, and inspiring environment, preparing them to become scholars, leaders, and role models in their communities.
Congratulations to Bugembe Islamic Institute, its students, staff, and supporters for this remarkable achievement and for continuing to set new benchmarks in Islamic education.
Bugembe Islamic Institute, founded in 1971 by Sheik Abdul Khaliq Tariq in Jinja, began as a primary school offering both Islamic and secular studies. With land donated by the Uganda Muslim community and funding from King Faisal, it expanded into a large institute featuring farms and vocational training. Over the years, it broadened its reach with Musubi Islamic Institute, outreach centers, and programs for out-of-school youth. The institute’s mission is to produce self-reliant Ulama and Muslim professionals while actively engaging in education, community service, and Islamic propagation.
